This review is written by Jeff Vice, a movie critic for the Desert News. Vice states that Russell uses bleached out photography and the "shaky cam", hand held camera to create a more documentary style film. One example of the different editing and style are the bits that show what a bullet can do to the human body. This is seen from inside the body cavity. While writing the story, Russell knew that this dark comic war movie will anger audiences with many of the film's intimations involving the US foreign policy with the Middle East, especially Iraq and Kuwait.
