Amy Corbin’s article, “No Man’s Land,” mostly discusses Danis Tanovic’s film, No Man’s Land. However, the article also briefly compares No Man’s Land and Three Kings because both films are of the war satire according to Corbin. Corbin explains that, “the two films have many parallels.” One of the similarities that Corbin discusses is juxtaposing the genres of “comedy and action melodrama to make a political statement about the absurdity of the (first) Gulf War.” In addition, Corbin brings up how the American soldiers in the Three Kings use a nerf ball to practice their skills while waiting for some real war action to occur. The author describes how much of the film is based on the shifts from a "postmodern satire" to an action melodrama to express Americans’ attitudes towards “consumer capitalism” and “humanitarian values.”
